SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students in Architectural and Civil Engineering Technology programs and to provide leadership in development and implementation of departmental and institutional activities that advance the mission of the college. This position reports to the Department Chair of Math Engineering and IT at NHTI Concords Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in physical sciences mathematics engineering or a related field.
Experience: Six (6) years of teaching experience in business or industry experience in the field of physical sciences mathematics engineering or a related field at least two years of which shall have been involved with supervisory teaching responsibilities.
OR
Education: Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in physical sciences mathematics engineering or a related field. Possession of a Bachelors degree in Education shall require an Associates degree in physical sciences mathematics engineering or a related field.
Experience: Seven (7) years of teaching experience in the field of physical sciences mathematics engineering or a related field at least two years of which shall have been involved with supervisory teaching responsibilities or seven (7) experience in business or industry experience in the field of physical sciences mathematics engineering or a related field two years of which shall have been in the supervision of personnel or program/project administration.
License/Certification: Licensed as a Professional Architectural Engineer.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of teaching methods use of instructional materials and the organization of subject matter into effective teaching units in technology or other specialized programs. Complete knowledge of the principles methods techniques and equipment in subjects being taught. Ability to evaluate student progress and provide guidance to both students and instructors. Ability to supervise professional instructional staff and collaborate in development of programs policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively with businesses and community organizations. Ability to originate and implement new programs and to improve existing programs. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
