Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks an experienced supervisor to lead manage coach and mentor a team oftax error resolvers that perform problem analysis and correction of business tax accounts. The supervisor will be responsible for planning organizing and monitoring the inventory level of all worklists approvals and unit activities to ensure teams operate efficiently and meeting accuracy timeliness priorities and quality goals.

Error Resolution a 50 member department focused on exception handling in a fast-paced production environment. The Error Resolution unit analyzes and corrects inaccuracies on submitted tax returns and payments before they can be posted to a taxpayers account.


The position is located at our Westmoreland Office in Richmond Virginia. This position is eligible for telework. Employee will have the opportunity to telework on Monday and Friday and will be required in the office Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.


The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $67000

Minimum Qualifications

Proven ability to supervise staff in a high volume fast-paced production environment

Knowledge and experience working with federal and/or state taxes tax forms and tax laws and regulations

Experience and proficiency with systems such as IRMS Advantage Revenue Image Retrieval and Siebel

Proven ability to assess business needs establish work priorities and assign necessary tasks to staff

Experience with evaluating staff performance and assessing staff training needs

Ability to work in and supervise others in both an in person and virtual work environment

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge in areas such as business administration public administration accounting taxes and/or other relevant areas
