The HGV Driver will be working within Hydro Internationals UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team. We support water utility companies working on sewage sites across the United Kingdom.

Requirements:

  • Must hold current valid UK driving licence and ideally have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
  • Able to carry out work some distance from base whichwillrequire overnight stays.

  • Able to work outside on sites whichare connected withwastewater (Sewage).

  • Capable of working at heights from scaffold platformsladdersor mechanical equipment.

  • Undertake training and work as part of a confined space team.

  • Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength stamina standingkneelingor crouching.

  • Must take pride in his vehicle and keep it cleantidyand serviceable.

Competence and Qualifications:

  • CE/HGV 1 licence

  • LOLER 1998 appreciation and awareness

  • Valid drivers CPC and Digi card

  • Crane Operators licence

  • Confined spaces to City and Guildsisdesirable

  • Slinger/crane supervisor

  • Mechanical Engineering backgroundis desirable.

Skills & Attributes:

    • At least 2 years Class 1 driving experience

    • Qualified crane operator with experience

    • Experience of British Standard Code of Practice for the safe use of cranes BS7121

    • Experience of loading flatbed wagons and securing loads

    • Basic knowledge of industrial mechanical fitting

    • Basic Knowledge of Health & Safetyissues in connection with the construction industry.

    • Ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure work is completed within set timescales.

    • Be friendly professional reliable with good people skills who enjoys supporting and working as part of ateam.

    • Able to communicate effectively to the customers company management & staff.

    • To work as part of a team and to co-operate with other staff / trades.

    • Conduct the work activities in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the company

Key Duties:

    • Weekly driving/operatingcrane and working on sewage treatment sites - therefore the role will entail being away from home Monday to Friday on a regular basis.

    • You willbe requiredto take the lead role in all lifting operations and securing loads andbe responsible forthe day-to-day maintenance of the lorry and crane.

    • Working week will involve liftingremovingand installing machinery plus working as part of the Mechanical/electrical engineering team that is likely to involve some manual fitting work.

    • Workingoutside in all weathers. PPE clothing will be provided.

    • Overnight staysin the cab of the lorry.

    • Ifrequiredwork on a Saturday morning to undertake a thorough weekly clean and routine maintenance of the lorry and load the lorry for the forthcoming week.
