Job Summary
Position Summary
Perform all engineering technician duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Coordinate engineering technician activities and perform hands-on fabrication testing and development of mechanical and electrical systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with engineers and fellow technicians to install prototype hardware (mechanical and electrical) using hand tools and assembly instructions.
- Maintain a safe clean and professional work area adopting 5S principles.
- Diagnose technical issues using a variety of test equipment and tools such as oscilloscopes multimeters and temperature measurement equipment.
- Must be able to demonstrate active listening skills and take direction from management.
- Install and troubleshoot software on prototype vehicles.
- Operate test equipment and tools including setup data collection and reporting.
- Ensure adequate coverage is in place when team members are absent; this may include overtime and/or weekend work as necessary.
- Be a team player but also be prepared to work alone when needs dictate to achieve goals and objectives.
- Continue to self-develop and be willing to further education in support of new technologies and methods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Mechanic or comparable certification required
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to read use proper grammar and interpret technical documents
- Proficient in MS Excel MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Problem solver adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Detailed-orientated
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
- Associates degree preferred
- Experience working in manufacturing industries is preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry is a plus
