GYO Success Coordinator

Description:The Grow Your Own (GYO) Success Coordinator facilitates the development and implementation of teacher and staff recruitment programs within the Eastpointe Community Schools using the 27b Grow Your Own Funds. The role involves coordinating multiple pathwayssuch as those for current staff in certification programs including teachers paraeducators or other staff members interested in career changes to become certified educators. The GYO Success Coordinator serves as a liaison between partner educator preparation programs and alternative pathway programs and the district.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program development: Help create and manage alternative teacher certification pathways which may involve working with university partners and developing curriculum.
• Recruitment and outreach: Publicize the GYO program and recruit candidates from the district which may include paraprofessionals and other non-licensed staff or teachers seeking additional endorsements.
• Candidate support and mentorship: Provide comprehensive guidance to program participants helping them navigate the academic professional and financial aid challenges of higher education. This includes coordinating mentors for candidates during and after their certification.
• Administrative oversight: Handle the operational and administrative functions of the program including managing budgets tracking participant data and preparing compliance reports.
• Collaboration and networking: Act as a liaison between the school district higher education institutions and community partners to facilitate student success and resource provision.
• Data tracking and evaluation: Collect and analyze data on student progress program effectiveness and participant retention. This data is used to drive decision-making and ensure the program is achieving its goals.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Masters degree in education social work counseling or a related field isstrongly preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in an educational setting or working with youth development programs is often preferred. The ideal candidate will have previously served as a Principal Director or Central Office Administrator.
• Skills: Strong organizational communication and leadership skills are essential. A GYO Success Coordinator must also be adept at tracking data building relationships and handling confidential information.
• Federal Grant Management: This position is funded through a US Treasury Grant the individual hired must apply all Federal Grant regulations and must have exceptional monitoring.

Work Schedule Compensation & Reporting

• The position is a 0.5 FTE (half-time) role and is grant funded through 27b funding (currently through September 30 2026)
• The candidate will work approximately 20 hours per week schedule TBD
• Salary: Negotiable
• Ideal position for a retired school administrator
• Position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources
