About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Senior Field Supervisor to lead a highly skilled and committed team Hartley that contributes to the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and aboriginal heritage of the beautiful Kanangra area and surrounding regions.
The Senior Field Supervisor will supervise the field team based at Hartley. This team is a high performing team of 7 staff that brings a deep range of skills to their work each day.
The role manages the planning and delivery of approved works ensuring completion within required deadlines and budgets as well as environmental welfare and safety standards. You will co-ordinate works programs and monitor and report on works program progress and expenditure.
Youll manage the day-to-day operations of the team including staffing fleet management and at times the coordination of contractors to meet the needs of various projects.
This role is pivotal in the ongoing establishment and management of the Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area as well as Wollemi Turon Marrangaroo and Blue Mountains National Parks and Evans Crown Nature Reserve.
Within these reserves are several high visitation precincts and associated infrastructure.
About You
You have a passion for the environment and conservation with strong communication and leadership skills.
You have a high level of autonomy with a can-do problem solving approach to work and a strong background in leading teams managing budgets and coordinating contractors in-line with relevant departmental procedures and quality standards to deliver both priority and routine works
This role works in a dynamic environment that is fast paced and with competing priorities. You are organised and able to positively respond to reactive works while maintaining a focus on long term and strategic outcomes. You are comfortable with new technologies in the scheduling and reporting of works programs
Essential requirements:
This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit enjoy working outdoors as part of a team and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSWs most precious natural places.
Applicants must meet the requirements of a specific medical assessment) which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake the fitness test for firefighting fitness roles (i.e. moderate level Task-Based Assessment for Firefighters) within the 12-month probationary period if relevant.
The role holder must obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting/incident control duties.
