The ELIA Membership Intern position is an exciting opportunity for anyone passionate about data and international collaboration. Powered by almost 300 members we are a globally connected knowledge community for peer-learning international collaboration and advocacy. ELIAs work includes the organisation of international events the facilitation of cross-institutional working groups participation in research and innovation projects and the publication of influential policy papers.
Candidate Profile
As a Membership Intern at ELIA you will have the exciting opportunity to support community engagement through insightful data-driven initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience as you familiarise yourself with our CRM system playing a crucial role in maintaining accurate membership records. You will also actively engage with our international community across various channels ensuring smooth communication and collaboration. This position calls for an independent thinker with a critical mindset. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented enthusiastic about structured systems and possess excellent communication skills.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Enter and update member data in ELIAs CRM system.
Conduct market research in the area of data management and visualisation.
Collect analyse and visualise data.
Assist in preparing content for newsletters the website and member communications.
Support with onboarding communication for new members.
Draft basic email communication and follow-up messages to members.
Help monitor membership engagement and identify recruitment opportunities.
Assist in organising member-related events and/or meetings.
Skills and Competencies
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration Data Management Information Systems or a related field.
Efficient data entry as well as strong analytical and research skills. Knowledge of research methods and/or statistics is a plus.
Capable of working independently with a detail-oriented critical mindset.
Proficient user of MS Office. Experience with CRM CMS and visualisation tools is desirable.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English is a must. Additional languages will be considered a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate and liaise with members from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Basic knowledge of HTML is a plus.
Affinity with the arts culture education and/or the non-profit sector is an asset.
A valid work permit for the Netherlands is required. Please note that ELIA will not be able to sponsor visas for candidates.

Practical Details
Position: Membership Intern
FTE: 0.8 - 1.0 FTE 32 - 40 H/week
Compensation: 400 - 500 monthly (depending on number of days)
Location: Amsterdam (office remote)
Start Date: 10 November 2025
Duration: 6 months

The internship will be supervised by ELIAs Community Manager and the intern will work closely with the membership team (ELIAs Community Manager and ELIAs Membership and Development Manager).
