Job Summary
- Fantastic opportunity for a Senior wastewater infrastructure Planner to join the System Planning & Land Acquisition team in Sydney Water.
- Have a key impact on planning across our wastewaternetworks
- Located from Parramatta with flexibility to balance remote and office working.
About the role
This role is responsible for supporting the development of optimised wastewater product and service plans that respond to community needs and achieve Sydney Waters objectives and priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead integrated wastewater cycle planning by identifying system-wide opportunities and forecasting long-term infrastructure and resource needs.
- Provide expert advice on best-practice planning approaches regulatory compliance and risk evaluation to support strategic decision-making.
- Engage and influence stakeholders through effective communication conflict resolution and representation at industry forums.
- Lead planning projects with significant financial impact (up to $100M) and oversee consultant engagements under $500K.
About You:
In addition to Tertiary Qualification in Engineering Infrastructure Management Planning Science or a related discipline we are looking for:
- At least 6 years relevant industry experience eg with anengineering consultancy utilities or infrastructure provider
- Demonstrated experience in development and management of integrated approaches to urban water services and infrastructure planning ideally from a wastewater perspective
- Applied knowledge of Product and Service Strategies into Regional System and Asset based plans
- Expert knowledge and experience of integrated water cycle management and water sensitive urban planning approaches
- Demonstrated experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling and infrastructure planning
- Ability to work well in a team and develop effective working relationships
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
