JOB OPPORTUNITY
The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the positionof Engineering Inspectorin the Public WorksDepartment! In this role you will have the opportunity to inspecta variety of construction projectsincludingsidewalks driveways storm and sewer lines erosioncontrol measuresand otherimprovementsin the public right-of-way. You willworkwithcontractorsproperty ownersdevelopers engineers and architectsto ensure thework inthe public right-of-waycomplieswithapproved plans andthe citymunicipal code.

EXAM PROCESS
The exam processwillinclude butmaynotbelimited to:
Application review for minimum qualifications anddocuments(qualifying experience will be calculated based on the administrative review date)
Competitive review and assessment of applicants education training andexperience (Training & Experience)
Tests may consist of any combination of written oral or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include but are not necessarily limited to typing math reading writing and analytical skills; problem solving ability; computer and software proficiency or any other job-related knowledge skill ability or qualification.The examination process and datesare subject to change. TheCitymay without notice change oreliminateany assessmentcomponentas needs dictate. Applicants passing all examination phases will have their names placed on an employment eligible list that hiring departments will use to conduct final selection interviewsslated for the week of November 17 2025.
