Job Description:

L3Harris has an immediate need for an Electro-Optic Technician to join our talented team and support our customers. We are seeking a technical professional to help build integrate and test photonic components into larger system assemblies. This is an on-site position supporting precision lab work at our Palm Bay FL location. We look forward to reviewing your application!

Essential Functions:

Optical Fiber Splicing/Recoating
Development assembly and inspection of photonic circuits
Mechanical Builds/Assemblies from print
Metal Soldering
Microscopy and Profilometry

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Experience working with electro-optics in a lab environment
Experience operating general electrical test equipment

Preferred Additional Skills:

Operating EO Equipment (eg. OSA Power Meter OBRs BeamScan MFD (Spiricon) Oscilloscopes multi wavelength laser sources etc) to characterize/test devices from differing HW used to sustain and/or enhance technologies; operate assembly equipment and utilize recipes across different devices/programs
Ability to operate GUIs for EO hardware
Ability to make recommendation for improvements when applicable
Basic Understanding of shop math: Ratios graphs algebra and geometry
