Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the manufacturing maturation of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) turbine components. CMCs are an enabling material that increases the temperature capability of jet engine components. Through successful development and application of these materials P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient lighter weight and more durable for commercial and military applications.

What You Will Do:

As a Tooling Engineer you will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to design develop and refine tools and fixtures that support manufacturing and assembly processes. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build their expertise while contributing to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop tools fixtures and equipment to support manufacturing and engineering processes.
Create and update 3D models technical drawings and documentation using CAD software.
Collaborate with manufacturing quality and engineering teams to ensure tools meet functional requirements and are optimized for production.
Support the testing validation and troubleshooting of tools to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
Assist in the continuous improvement of tool design processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Ensure compliance with safety standards company policies and engineering best practices.
Research and evaluate new suppliers for tooling and support the purchasing process.
Training of engineers and technicians on proper use of tooling
Explore and implement new technologies to align with business goals

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited course of study with 2 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with no years of experience.
U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. CATIA NX SolidWorks).
Basic understanding of GD&T principles manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Experience designing molds assembly fixtures machining fixtures or other tooling used for composite or ceramic processing in the aerospace industry.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement tools.
Enthusiasm for innovation and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of additive manufacturing and advanced tooling technologies.

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process candidates may be asked to attendselect steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 72000 USD - 144000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
