DescriptionWe are on a journey to build the next-generation foundry for quantum processor manufacturing and are looking for a Quantum Materials Engineer to join our growing team.
Do you want to be a part of pioneering quantum computing in a world-class quantum ecosystem in the heart of Copenhagen Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is a newly founded company owned by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) aimed at developing next generation Quantum Computing Processor technologies.
Our mission is to establish a foundry capable of manufacturing quantum processor units (QPUs) employing novel methods to meet the extreme requirements for purity and precision needed to bring Quantum Computing to scale.
About us
Our company is part of a vibrant and growing Danish quantum ecosystem and we collaborate closely with world-leading researchers at Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP ) based at the Niels Bohr Institute University of Copenhagen. The NQCP Programme is designed to facilitate and drive research and innovations at multiple levels from developing materials and quantum processor technologies through solutions for the quantum-classical control and readout interface and all the way to quantum algorithms and applications.
In close collaboration with NQCP and international partners we aim to pioneer chip-based fabrication and packaging methods for state-of-the-art quantum processors.
Join our team
As our new Quantum Materials Engineer in the Front-end Circuitry (FEC) team you will serve as an expert on advanced crystal growth fabrication processes for quantum chip addition you will collaborate with our tools development team to ensure alignment between the crystal growth process requirements and tool specifications.
Your primary responsibilities and tasks may include:
- Developing wafer-scale crystal growth processes using advanced deposition and characterization tools.
- Establishing and performing in-line inspection for fast loop materials development.
- Creating and maintaining documentation of process flows experimental results and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Supporting the process development team in adopting data-driven methodologies for continuous improvement
Professional and Personal Qualifications
You may have several years of work experience with materials synthesis nanodevice fabrication or system integration. You actively seek opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge work collaboratively and communicate effectively. Additionally you thrive in a dynamic work environment and adapt readily with the ability to learn and apply new techniques in a constantly evolving setting.
Your qualifications and experience may include:
- Education: Master or PhD in material science physics chemical engineering or related.
- 2 years experience with advanced epitaxial deposition techniques using MBE e-beam or plasma preferably in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environments.
- Broad knowledge of materials characterization nanofabrication and device integration
- Familiarity with system engineering concepts and proficiency in data tracking
- Preferably a basic understanding of different quantum processor architectures
We offer
Joining our team offers opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with leading experts in the field of quantum computing. We strive to be a world leading foundry and offer competitive salaries along with the many benefits of living in Copenhagen one of the most liveable cities in the world.
Benefits also include generous vacation time health insurance a pension scheme and a chance to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.
