We are seeking an enthusiastic skilled and dedicated Part-Time Teacher of Psychology to join the successful Humanities or Social Sciences faculty at a high-achieving secondary school/academy in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

This is a Part-Time Permanent Position starting in January 2026 (or sooner).

The Opportunity

The successful applicant will be an inspirational and highly effective Psychology specialist with a passion for teaching A-Level students. This is a crucial role supporting the academic success of students studying one of the most popular subjects at Key Stage 5.

The exact Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) is negotiable but is likely around 0.6 FTE to 0.8 FTE. There may be an opportunity for a small Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment which would be pro-rata for responsibilities such as coordinating the AQA/Edexcel syllabus or overseeing extended project qualifications.

We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • A proven track record as an excellent Psychology Teacher with essential experience teaching the subject at Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
  • Strong subject knowledge across all core topics (e.g. approaches research methods key debates).
  • A genuine passion for the subject and the ability to inspire students to achieve top grades.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to department planning.

Salary and Benefits

  • Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Inner London Teachers (currently 40317 - 62496 for 2025/2026).
  • Pro-Rata Salary: Your final salary will be this scale multiplied by your agreed FTE (e.g. 0.6MPS).
  • Any agreed TLR payment would also be pro-rata (likely an equivalent to a TLR 3 or small TLR 2).
