Job Summary
Our client a major player in the banking sector is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join their team in Brussels. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex large-scale infrastructures contributing to the design implementation and security of advanced network and cloud environments within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and maintain secure network and system architectures for hybrid environments (cloud and on-premise)
Analyze and optimize network technologies and communication protocols (Ethernet Wi-Fi Fibre Channel Bluetooth etc.)
Implement authentication encryption and secure communication mechanisms
Collaborate on cloud-based architecture projects ensuring interoperability and compliance with enterprise security standards
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities applying multi-layered security and defense-in-depth principles
Support system integration middleware configurations and secure application development practices
Stay updated on evolving threats attack techniques and best practices in cybersecurity
Technical Skills Required:
Strong understanding of network technologies and detailed knowledge of communication protocols
Expertise in authentication (user and machine) and encryption technologies
Experience with operating systems such as Windows Linux Solaris
Hands-on experience with cloud services (Microsoft stack preferred) and cloud architecture principles
Knowledge of hybrid topologies microservices and enterprise service bus architectures (API gateway)
Familiarity with ICS/SCADA systems and proprietary protocols
Awareness of common cyberattacks and security bypass techniques
Scripting proficiency (Bash Python PowerShell)
Expertise in network design database systems (SQL Oracle) middleware and secure coding
Programming experience in Java or .NET is a plus
