Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cardiovascular Cath Lab RN to join our dynamic team in Anchorage Alaska. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-acuity settings with specific expertise in the Cath Lab. This role involves assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures monitoring patients and administering sedation medications safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care during cardiovascular catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Monitor patients cardiac status and vital signs throughout procedures.
- Collaborate closely with physicians technologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with post-procedure care and monitoring.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in patient condition.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and families about procedure care plan and follow-up.
Required Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing (Alaska license required)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab)
OR - 5 years of experience in a high-acuity setting (e.g. ICU or Emergency Room)
- 3 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab)
- Experience Required In:
- Circulating and monitoring during procedures
- Administering and mixing sedation drips/medications
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Red Cross or American Heart Association
