About the Development Delivery Manager.
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Development Delivery Manager to oversee the successful delivery of our software development initiatives. This role bridges the gap between technical teams business stakeholders and clients ensuring that projects are delivered on time within scope and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development project management excellent leadership skills and a commitment to driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Planning
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of software development projects ensuring adherence to timelines scope and budget.
- Collaborate with product owners business analysts and technical leads to define delivery plans and priorities.
- Monitor progress against delivery commitments proactively addressing risks and bottlenecks.
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead mentor and motivate development teams to deliver high-quality work.
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with business priorities and contractual obligations.
- Foster a collaborative accountable and performance-focused team culture.
- Address Vacancies: Create Job descriptions assist in recruitment scan CVs conduct interviews evaluate candidates and make recommendations.
- Ensure dev KPIs and Personal Development Plans (PDP) discussions are completed
- Quality & Process Management
- Implement and enforce development best practices including QA DevOps and version control processes.
- Drive adoption of agile methodologies and continuous delivery principles.
- Ensure that all deliverables meet agreed-upon quality standards.
- Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery-related communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular status reports and progress updates to executives and clients.
- Manage expectations and negotiate delivery timelines where necessary.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency quality and predictability.
- Champion the use of tools automation and metrics to optimize processes.
- Lead retrospectives and post-delivery reviews to capture lessons learned.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in software delivery/project management ideally in a retail or enterprise software environment.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex development projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices.
- Excellent leadership interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g. Jira Confluence Azure DevOps)
- Experience managing multi-platform development projects (e.g. POS ERP cloud solutions) Preferred
- Familiarity with retail technology systems and integrations Preferred
