Job Description

Oaks Wellington Hotel are looking for a full time Chef de Partie to join their experienced team. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with and support fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in preparing and cooking meals to the highest standard following recipes and maintaining consistency.
  • Take pride in preparing and presenting beautifully crafted dishes ensuring they are properly dressed before being served.
  • Assist Chef in Charge with preparing back of house rosters.
  • Oversee stock control and ensure the safe and proper storage of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Contribute to the development of exciting new menu items in partnership with the Executive Chef.

Expected minimum hours: 30 hours per week

Location: 89 Courtenay Place Te Aro Wellington 6011 New Zealand

Hourly range: $29 - $31NZD per hour. (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver). Payment of wages will be processed on a fortnightly basis by direct credit to your nominated bank account.

Annual salary approximate: $45240-$48360 (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver).

Employment Status: Full Time - Permanent

Commencement Date: To be confirmed

Reporting to: Executive Chef

Breaks: Employees are entitled to paid rest breaks and unpaid meal breaks based on the number of hours worked. Breaks will be taken at times agreed to by the employer and employee or when the law says breaks must be taken. Leave Entitlements: As per Employment New Zealand - Leave and holidays Employment New Zealand and Holidays Act 2003.

Period of Notice: Four weeks


Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Positive proactive attitude and a passion for cooking.
  • Flexibility to work as per the roster in all operations: Lunch Breakfast & Dinner.
