Senior Mechanical Estimator Construction Management

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in mechanical estimating particularly within commercial data center industrial or high-tech construction environments. While mechanical estimating is the core focus experience with electrical and plumbing systems (MEP) is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of mechanical cost estimates across all project phasesfrom conceptual through detailed design.
• Deliver accurate and timely cost plans and estimates to support client decision-making.
• Collaborate with design and project teams to provide cost input during feasibility studies procurement planning and value engineering.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle: pre-qualification bid analysis reporting and contract documentation.
• Conduct cost checks valuations and change control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce and present monthly cost reports and final accounts to clients.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior estimators and cost consultants.
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for new business.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating tools templates and best practices.
• Analyze historical cost data and market trends to inform future estimates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to validate pricing and scope.
• Support risk and contingency analysis during preconstruction phases.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role which are to be adhered to where applicable. 

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management Quantity Surveying or a related technical field.
• 7 years of experience in mechanical estimating for large-scale commercial or high-tech construction projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC piping and plumbing systems as they relate to building construction.
• Familiarity with electrical and plumbing estimating (MEP) is a plus.
• Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel AutoCAD Navisworks Bluebeam).
• Excellent communication presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience advising clients on value engineering life cycle costing and procurement strategies.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience working with high-profile clients and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
