Description

Who We Are Looking For:

New-Indy is looking for a Director Strategic Sourcing & Procurement to lead and manage the sourcing and procurement functions within the company ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials components and services required for the manufacturing process. This strategic leadership role is critical in driving supplier relationships negotiating favorable contracts managing procurement strategies and maintaining a continuous supply of high-quality materials to meet production demands while optimizing costs.

Qualifications

What You Will Do:

Sourcing and Procurement Strategy:

  • Develop and implement innovative sourcing and procurement strategies that support New-Indys production needs and overall business goals.
  • Lead the identification qualification and selection of suppliers ensuring alignment with the companys quality standards cost objectives and timelines.
  • Continuously assess market conditions supplier capabilities and material costs to optimize procurement strategies and improve supply chain resilience.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in procurement to improve efficiency reduce lead times and minimize procurement risks.

Supplier Management and Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with suppliers ensuring high-quality cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Negotiate favorable terms prices and contracts with suppliers while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Regularly evaluate supplier performance and address any issues related to quality delivery and cost.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks related to supplier disruptions shortages or geopolitical issues.

Contract Management:

  • Oversee the negotiation drafting and management of contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms compliance and clarity.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to review and ensure the proper documentation and terms are included in contracts.
  • Ensure that all procurement contracts meet corporate and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Monitor contract execution to ensure adherence to terms timelines and quality expectations.

Cost Management and Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage procurement budgets ensuring that procurement activities align with financial objectives and cost-saving goals.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs through strategic sourcing supplier negotiations and process improvements without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.
  • Implement cost control measures and procurement metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking for the company

Supplier Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
  • Identify assess and manage risks related to sourcing supplier relationships and procurement including market fluctuations supplier financial stability and geopolitical risks.
  • Ensure that all sourcing and procurement activities comply with company policies industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends sourcing technologies and procurement innovations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring for contract breaches and developing response plans to ensure compliance with original terms are achieved

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Engineering Legal Studies or related field (Masters preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement preferably in manufacturing or packaging with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or equivalent are preferred.
  • Deep understanding of contract law and best practices
  • Exceptional negotiation communication and contract management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of sourcing strategies procurement best practices and supplier relationship management.
  • Proficiency with procurement software (e.g. ERP systems e-sourcing tools).
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong proven analytical skills and sound business judgement with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the materials required for production.
  • Understanding of international trade regulations and global sourcing practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication project management and analytical skills

What You Should Know:

  • This role will typically involve a mix of office work and on-site interactions with manufacturing facilities.
  • 25% minimum travel required to work directly with manufacturing locations across the US.
