Short Description
The Workers Compensation Analyst is responsible for managing and administering workers compensation claims and benefits for employees who experience work-related injuries or illnesses. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations facilitates timely and appropriate medical treatment and supports return-to-work initiatives.
- Monitors Workers Compensation claims to ensure they are aligned with Cooper University Health Cares policies and procedures
- Processes Workers Compensation lost restricted payroll processing
- Analyzes and generates reports for lost restricted time and trending data
- Administer and monitor workers compensation claims from initial report through resolution.
- Authorize and coordinate medical treatment ensuring it is prompt adequate and cost-effective.
- Conduct investigations including interviews with injured team members witnesses and medical providers.
- Collaborate with attorneys physicians and employee representatives to resolve claims.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of claims and case activity.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state workers compensation laws and internal policies.
- Assist in developing and implementing workplace safety and injury prevention programs.
- Works with leaders on job restrictions or light duty assignments.
- Estimate reserves and manage vendor services related to claims.
- Educate team members on their rights and benefits under workers compensation laws.
Experience Required
3-5 years related experience in workers compensation administration or human resources.
Experience with Microsoft Office software and Excel functions.
Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree preferred
Special Requirements
Strong analytical skillsverbalwritten communication organizational and customer service skills.
Must be able to work independently and prioritize responsibilities and deadlines.
Must demonstrate knowledge of laws and regulations governing workers compensation administration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word).
Critical thinking and analytical skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
