Eurofins PSS is seeking a passionate and dedicated experimental stem cell biologist. The candidate will work directly on the client site in Cambridge MA and will collaborate with scientists from multiple therapeutic areas (Immunology and Neuroscience) to validate targets drug candidates and biomarkers with the objective of developing improved human model systems and leveraging these translational model systems to better understand the mechanism of action for early discovery targets. The candidate will utilize genetic (CRISPR) and pharmacological manipulations of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) model systems to validate the role of targets in mechanisms related to the pathobiology of human diseases. The focus of the role will be to differentiate iPS-derived immune cell types for use in cell-based assays and to incorporate them into intestine and skin organoid model systems for the client Immunology team. The candidate will support the clients dynamic and innovative early discovery research environment and will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
This is a hands-on position. The ideal candidate shall have excellent lab skills strong documentation skills the ability to analyze and summarize data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Formulate and execute assay protocols to differentiate iPSC lines into immune cell types including but not limited to Mast dendritic macrophage and T-cells.
- To develop methods for QC and functional validation of immune cell types in collaboration with experimental scientists within different client groups.
- To incorporate immune cell types into organoid models in collaboration with experimental scientists within the client environment.
- Work with cross-functional teams including disease area biologists pharmacologists and chemists to develop and implement functional assay readouts to validate Immunology drug targets using iPSC-derived model systems.
- Effectively communicate and present data to a diverse group of scientists including senior managers.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Candidate with PhD with 4 years of experience in stem cell biology or related biological fields.
- Possess excellent communication skills with ability to present clear scientific data and project updates to a diverse group of scientists.
- Experience working in collaborative research environments to advance scientific projects.
