Description

The Director of Projects and Services is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Projects and Services organization in Benelux. This person will need to implement the strategy per European guidelines and define and build the annual operating budgets.

Additionally from this position you will ensure the necessary capacities and skills for the effective execution of projects and service activities. The individual will define and carry out the personnel and material resources along with the means necessary to achieve the objectives.

In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • To set collective and individual objectives establish action plans and supervise the progress to achieve them. Additionally implement a two-way communications plan to keep the operations team informed.
  • To work in partnership with the Benelux management team (Cross BU) to analyze and implement the strategic plan incorporating the strategic directions of both the World Area and SYSS business units.
  • To develop annual operating budgets and drive monthly review and forecasting activities in conjunction with Finance and Sales leadership.
  • To be an integral part of the SYSS Benelux management teams to ensure co-operation and coordination in both the project pursuit process and service sales.
  • To develop close relationships with key customers. To enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering outstanding quality in project execution and service delivery.
  • To manage the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process and lead monthly meetings to evaluate and anticipate the operational load (e.g. analysis of forecasts and operational outstandings).
  • To improve customer-facing capabilities by developing FEED consultancy knowledge and integrating new portfolio offerings.
  • To maintain project controls and risk management to ensure consistent project performance (PMO Project Management Office standards)
  • To drive and embed a culture of continuous improvement of performance and innovation to deliver productivity and speed of execution.
  • To use the capabilities of the Center of Excellence both European and Global to enhance the performance and cost efficiency of the organization.
  • To be an integral part of the Northern Region management team as well as the European one sharing knowledge supporting each other and contributing to key initiatives.

For This Role You Will Need:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. business communications Automation).
  • Demonstrated experience in the automation industry with broad technical knowledge of different industry segments (Oil & Gas Chemicals Refining Pharma etc).
  • Demonstrated ability in operational management roles with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in English for making presentations negotiating and interacting in daily written and oral communication.
  • Strong customer interfacing skills and commercial savvy.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Additional education in business administration operations or project management is considered a plus.
Extensive understanding and experience of business drivers in Project Management.
Familiarity with service management and service excellence.
Proven track record of effective leadership and line management.
Ability to collaborate within a team environment within a sophisticated matrix organization.
