SLR Consulting is an international group (5000 people) specialising in environmental and social studies. The SLR Consulting France team based in Grenoble works on Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) of major infrastructure projects (e.g. hydroelectric dams green hydrogen production mining projects port developments) in Africa Asia South America and Eastern Europe with international (e.g. EBRD AFD IFC World Bank) or private financing.
SLR France is recruiting an agronomist engineer. Under the responsibility of the Director of SLR Consulting France you will manage the socio-economic and ecosystem components of environmental and social impact studies of major projects including:
Definition and supervision of socio-economic baseline (e.g. socio-economic surveys)
Conducting impact analysis including analysis of alternatives prediction of changes to ecosystems and local populations
Identification of solutions to avoid minimize or compensate for negative impacts
Preparation of environmental and social management plans including resettlement community health and safety action plans gender human rights or cultural heritage action plans
Stakeholder engagement including vulnerable people
Dialogue with developers to influence the design and operation of developments
Preparation of technical and financial proposals in response to calls for tenders;
Interaction with the other SLR Group teams in Europe and the rest of the world.
The position is a permanent contract based in Grenoble but requires regular travel abroad in Africa Asia and Eastern Europe for example. It also requires good writing skills in both French and English.
With a Bac5 education a graduate of an agricultural engineering school (e.g. AgroParisTech ENSAIA Institut Agro Montpellier Institut Agro Rennes Angers ENSAT Institut Agro Dijon ISTOM) you have a first professional experience abroad (in Africa Asia South America or Eastern Europe) whether it was carried out with consultancies or within an NGO. The candidate must be fluent in French and English both oral and written (C1 minimum).
