An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Network Management Specialist within the Transport Strategy and Policy Team in the Environment and Transport Department. We are looking for someone to support the development and implementation of the County Councils transport policy particularly the approach to managing transport networks.

About the Role

You will have the ability to provide traffic management policy advice to assist with the development implementation and review of the County Councils transport policies and strategies (including the Network Management Plan) ensuring that they support the wider policies of the Authority.

You will assist with the development and management (including budgetary) of the delivery of transport studies and other pieces of work that provide evidence to inform future policy scheme and programme development.

You will have experience of supporting a portfolio of projects with a knowledge of project management principles. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with diverse return you will get a chance to manage and support exciting and innovative projects that will provide the blueprint for how the department works in the future.

About You

To apply for this post you must:

Hold a degree in a relevant qualification (e.g. civil engineering or transportation) or equivalent demonstrable work experience of strategy and policy development.

You must be able to demonstrate experience in conducting and managing significant research projects to collect and analyse evidence for strategy development such as evidence bases

Also:

  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to shape and influence.
  • Be able to manage complex processes
  • Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work within tight timescales whilst working under pressure.
  • be able to respond confidently to customers and colleagues whilst maintaining an objective and professional stance.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team working and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills

You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.

In addition we also expect you to shareour commitment to our valuesand will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
