Job Description
Work Arrangement:This role is categorized asHybrid. This means the successful candidate isexpected to report to Warren GM Global Technical Centerthree times per weekat minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
Relocation:This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
The Role:
As a Senior Buyer you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials supplies machinery tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in the development of commodity strategy sourcing/negotiationsglobal/regional material budget execution and collaborate with suppliers or internal partners. The work is of a sophisticated nature involving a considerable amount of initiative analytical work and judgment.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities):
You will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials supplies machinery tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy sourcing/negotiations global/regional material budget execution and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders.
Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.
Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Logistics Finance Industrial Engineering or related field
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Experience with commodities
Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex
Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word Excel PowerPoint
Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of procurement software
Knowledge of materials management
Capable of interpreting market data
Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
