The University of Hawaii at Manoa William S. Richardson School of Law seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Law (F3 9-month) whose primary teaching and scholarship interests are in legal writing. The Law School is in the process of transitioning its first year (1L) legal writing program from a hybrid adjunct program to a coordinated course staffed entirely by tenured or tenure-track faculty. The successful candidates will have an opportunity to bring their fresh perspectives to help reshape the course and contribute to our broader ongoing efforts to revamp the 1L curriculum. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and teach upper-level writing courses in addition to teaching in the 1L Lawyering Fundamentals program.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Juris Doctor degree or equivalent terminal degree from a college or university of recognized standing and a demonstrated ability and/or experience in teaching 1L legal writing in a JD program or demonstrated experience in law practice legal scholarship and public service. Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.
