Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Security Manager supervises Security Department operations at the assigned site during their shift. Responsible for identifying and seeking immediate and long-term solutions to life-safety issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages day-to-day security operations at the assigned site during their shift to ensure compliance with established departmental and operational procedures.

  • Supervises staff. Provides guidance training and motivation as needed to develop staff skills.

  • Interviews hires terminates evaluates reviews and counsels employees per all applicable human resources policies and procedures.

  • Circulates around the site. Identifies and resolves security and life-safety issues.

  • Responds to emergencies (medical fire hazmat).

  • Directs team protects employees and activates Incident Command System.

  • Keep the Manager abreast of all incidents and related security matters.

  • Prioritizes assigns and reviews work to prevent and minimize product losses and/or fraud.

  • Implements a staffing schedule to ensure adequate security coverage at all times. Receives and approves TC-1 for all security employees. Authorizes vacations Personal time and overtime as needed.

  • Implements and maintains a training program for newly hired security personnel.

  • Informs employees of security policies and procedures. Notify supervisors of employee infractions.

  • Works with the Manager to determine the level of security required for special events.

  • Receives and reviews all incident reports from the assigned shift. Contact the appropriate supervisory personnel to follow up on incidents and determine outcomes. Informs Health and Safety Department of all accidents and health-related incidents. Summarizes and/or refers security issues to management for further action.

  • Conducts surveillance monitoring of different areas as business needs dictate.

  • Ensures all changes and/or additions to policies are clearly communicated to the affected personnel in a timely manner.

  • Interacts extensively with Human Resources and department management to coordinate employee terminations. May provide escorts out of the building in hostile situations.

  • Coordinates emergency weather transports when business dictates and provides transports to essential personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent undergraduate degree in a related field is a plus.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of Security experience is required.

  • 1 year of using computer programs such as MS Office Outlook Sharepoint and Lotus Notes.

  • At least 1 year of previous supervisory experience in a similar working environment or a combination of seasonal developmental positions with other related experience is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to conduct oral presentations

  • Ability to access and enter information using an automated system

  • Ability to sit for long periods

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

  • Maintain attendance as defined by company policy

Hourly: $24.00 - $28.00
