Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a/an Environmental Health and Safety Manager located in Henrico VA.
Reporting to the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager the EH&S Manager role involves providing immediate supervision to a group of employees for the implementation of complex activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety programs in offices and manufacturing sites to ensure that the required company and government standards and regulations are met.
Responsibilities:
Manage through subordinate supervisors the coordination of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in offices manufacturing sites and plants with control results in terms of costs methods and employees.
Develop and administer budgets schedules and performance requirements.
Conduct meetings involving environmental safety training and awareness programs.
Oversee proper maintenance of buildings furniture and fixtures in accordance with federal state and local regulations.
Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance and act as advisor to unit or sub-units and get involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems.
Establish and recommend changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s).
Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors customers and/or functional peer group managers.
Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules etc.
Manage budget and schedule for moderately complex EH&S activities including costs of contract labor equipment and materials.
Train staff on any changes to policy and procedures.
Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience in EH&S and knowledge of related regulations codes and guidelines.
Typically requires 7 years of related experience.
Must have at least one (1) year of leadership experience ideally in an EHS role.
