OPERATIONS MANAGER
Mississippi River Power Corp. is seeking to fill the position of Operations Manager.
As the leader of the operations and maintenance team the Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of a 4.6 MW run-of-river hydroelectric generating station and three associated dams. The station and dams are located on the Mississippi River in Almonte Ontario. Responsibilities include ensuring safe and efficient operation maintenance and refurbishment of the station and other physical assets meeting all legislative and regulatory requirements. It also includes training development and supervision of employees.
The position requires familiarity with electrical power systems as well as the ability to climb on structures and work in confined spaces. Familiarity or experience with operating and maintaining mechanical equipment and hydraulic power systems is an asset. The station operates 24x7; the candidate will be required to respond to off-hour emergencies and will need to reside within a thirty-minute drive of the station and possess a valid drivers license.
