Duties and Responsibilities

(* Essential Functions)


  1. *Assist the School Certifying Official with the Colleges certification program for students receiving VA EducationBenefits.
  2. *Work directly with the School Certifying Official to assist with Second Certifications for Chapter 33 Post 9/11 Students.
  3. *Assist in the accurate and timely reporting of required student information to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) including but not limited to attendance academic performance degree progress and enrollment status. Ensure all submissions comply with VA regulations and institutional policies.
  4. *Maintain student files to ensure all required documentation is accurately prepared organized and securely stored in compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
  5. *Assist with the management and processing of the Kuali Build Veteran Student Enrollment Information (VSEI) eForm which enables students to submit certification requests for VA education benefits. Ensure timely review accurate data entry and proper routing in accordance with institutional procedures and VA requirements.
  6. *Serve as a knowledgeable resource for prospective and current students parents and other stakeholders regarding VA and military education benefits. Receive and respond to inquiries related to accessing benefits providing clear guidance on the process eligibility requirements and necessary documentation. Refer individuals to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or other appropriate entities when additional support or clarification is needed.
  7. *Assist with providing support to Veteran Resource Center (VRC) staff by assisting with student inquiries and facilitating appropriate referrals to the Military & Veteran Counselor and the VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC)/Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E) Counselor. Ensure students are connected with the appropriate resources to address their academic personal or benefit-related needs.

Minimum Qualifications


  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in education business psychology or any arts & sciences related field and0year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities forstudent enrollment services business services and/or customer services;or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of student enrollment services business services and/or customer services as demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
  3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with student enrollment services business services and/or customer services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of student enrollment services business services and/or customer services.
  5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer apply word processing and spreadsheet software.
  8. Excellent customer service including experience working with students faculty and staff.
  9. Demonstrates innovation and creativity.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Masters degree in Education Social Work Counseling and Guidance College Student Personnel Services Communications or related field.
  2. Experience working in a higher education environment in enrollment management and/or registrars admissions or financial aid office.
  3. Working knowledge of academic state and federal policies and procedures including federal privacy regulations such as FERPA.
  4. Ability to perform work requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  5. Experience working with veterans active military and military dependents.
  6. Working knowledge of student information systems such as Ellucian Banner.
  7. Familiarity with Enrollment Manager.
  8. Previous experience as a VA School Certifying Official with administering VA/military benefits programs and/or with administering federal programs.
  9. Familiarity with military bases and its education-related services.
  10. Familiarity with MyCAA military tuition assistance tuition waiver programs etc.
  11. Adept at utilizing Microsoft Office databases web-based platforms and other technologies.
  12. Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and technology.
