Job Description
About the Role: Were looking for a Software Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team. This team owns the foundational infrastructure and systems that power our cloud platform including APIs internal tools used by operators and common cloud platform services such as authentication and observability.
They are also responsible for the NetBox Cloud product which sits on top of the platform - including components such as the Cloud Console instance orchestration system (Kubernetes-based) signup system and single sign-on (SSO).
To support internal operations the team also develops internal facing tools that empower our Customer Success TechOps and Product teams to support our customers effectively.
A key focus of this role will be maintaining and extending our platform REST API (written in Go) which serves both external customers on our cloud platform and internal product teams. The role will also involve building and maintaining a host of platform microservices developed in Python.
What Youll Do:
Design build and maintain internal platforms and services using Go Python and AWS services with event driven architecture
Develop and evolve NetBox Cloud capabilities including the Cloud Console signup flow and SSO
Work with product application teams on internal operational tools that empower our support staff to service our customers
Contribute to infrastructure-as-code efforts using tools like Terraform and Kubernetes
Collaborate with the security and compliance teams to ensure the platform and its code meet organizational and regulatory standards including SOC 2
Partner with product and engineering teams to define and deliver platform capabilities both internal and customer facing
Extend and maintain our REST API
Participate in the teams on-call rotation to support production systems
What Were Looking For:
7 years of experience as a software engineer ideally with platform or infrastructure focus and 2 years in a startup environment
Proficiency with Python or Go and familiarity with Linux systems
Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (e.g. Kubernetes Docker Terraform)
Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure best practices
Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or similar
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Comfortable working in a fast-paced remote-first environment
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms
Exposure to infrastructure security and compliance standards (SOC 2 FedRAMP etc.)
Contributions to open source projects
