Job Description

Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician MSH
Location: New York NY 10011
Duration: Contract (Full-Time)
Schedule: Monday Friday 7.5 hours/day 37.5 hours/week
Experience Required: 2 years of recent CST experience

Job Summary

The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) provides direct surgical assistance to surgical residents and attending providers in the oral surgery clinic and dental ambulatory OR/procedure room. This role ensures safe efficient and high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with infection control and surgical standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to surgical chairs screen patients and review medical records for completeness including PHM labs and treatment notes.

  • Provide four-handed chairside surgical assistance to clinicians during procedures.

  • Disinfect and prepare counters mayo stands and equipment prior to setup.

  • Organize sterile instruments trays and equipment for each procedure.

  • Take radiographs as requested (pre- intra- and post-procedure).

  • Restock cabinets and drawers; order and maintain surgical/medical supplies.

  • Assist chairside with monitoring patient vitals suctioning passing instruments and medications.

  • Handle post-procedure breakdown including removal of instruments equipment and disposal of medical waste.

  • Respond effectively and appropriately to medical emergencies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of CST experience (5 years preferred).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Education & Certifications

  • Associates Degree required.

  • Dental Assistant Certification required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
