Job Title: RN Adult Care
Location: New York NY 10035
Duration: 3 Months Contract
Position Details:
Job Summary:The RN Adult Care is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. The nurse provides direct bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients ensuring adherence to best practices and patient safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate medical information and deliver individualized nursing care.
Provide bedside care for pre- and post-surgical patients.
Prepare administer and document prescribed medications.
Perform wound care change dressings and insert catheters.
Initiate and manage IV therapy.
Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment; interpret and record measurements.
Monitor vital signs and promptly report adverse reactions to medications.
Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning.
Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records charts and documentation.
Follow evidence-based nursing standards policies and protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital within the past year.
Post-Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in either a post-acute facility or acute care hospital within the past year.
Proficiency in:
Preferred:
Education & Certifications:
Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Completion of Self-Assessment Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam for Med/Surg.
Current New York State RN License (primary source verified).
AHA BLS certification.
AHA ACLS certification (required for certain locations).
