Systems Admin/ Database Manager

Qualis LLC is actively seeking a talented SysAdmin / Database Manager to join our dynamic this role you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database systems while ensuring optimum performance and security across all platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish database policies and procedures the aim is to deliver efficiency and reliability within the organizations information environment.

Duties:

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Administer install configure and troubleshoot database management systems (DBMS) including Microsoft SQL Server MySQL or Oracle.
• Monitor database performance and design solutions to improve efficiency and optimize queries.
• Create and maintain database backups and recovery plans ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive information in databases and to maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
• Support database architecture and migration tasks between different database management systems.
• Develop scripts for automation of repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.

• Install configure and maintain servers for reliable operation.
• Manage user accounts and permissions for controlled system access.
• Configure basic network services to ensure connectivity.
• Implement security measures to protect systems from threats.
• Manage backup solutions to safeguard data from loss.
• Automate repetitive tasks through scripting.
• Configure monitoring systems for proactive issue detection.
• Manage cloud resources for optimized infrastructure.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications.
• Create and maintain documentation for knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical support to resolve user issues.
• Work with vendors to manage hardware and software.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Proficient in Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Skilled in Bash Python or PowerShell scripting.
• Understand networking fundamentals.
• Expert in security best practices.
• Knowledgeable in cloud computing concepts.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Familiar with containerization platforms.
• Proficient with monitoring tools.
• Knowledgeable about configuration management.
• Possess strong problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills.
• Manage time effectively.
• Collaborate well in a team.
• Create clear and concise documentation.

Security Clearance:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance desired.
