Responsible for planning implementing and supervising farming operations in a manner that optimizes return on investment good stewardship and sustainability.
Position Responsibilities:
Assisting the Area Manager in formulating operating and capital budgets for the property.
Performing within the total budget framework adjusting for special unforeseen uncontrollable conditions that cause variances from normal budgeted figures.
Implementation and execution of effective efficient orderly and timely farming operations including decision making required for fertilizer pesticide and irrigation applications with minimal oversight from the Area Manager.
Record keeping is required to complete sustainability audits which may be requested internally or externally.
Promptly responding to special circumstances or conditions during the growing season such as weather pests diseases or other extraordinary events with minimal oversight from the Area Manager.
Achieving yields comparable or better than the best farmers in the area with similar property.
Effective handling of personnel contractors labor vendors equipment and processors in a strong fair manner.
Assisting the Marsh Foreman in performing their duties efficiently and effectively.
Promptly reporting problems or successes and producing monthly management reports or other analyses as needed.
Following procurement procedures both the formal and the informal bidding processes.
Enforcing company safety policies.
Ensuring company policies continue to be followed and all employees are properly trained.
Other duties as assigned.
4-year college degree preferred (Farm Management or Agricultural Business preferably) or minimum five (5) years previous experience in farming and equipment operation.
Must be able to work well with management and communicate well with others.
Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Must possess a valid drivers license and be insurable with the companys commercial carrier.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in directing daily work assignments and supervising employees is desired.
Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) is preferred.
First aid training is preferred.

Salary range is expected to be between
$55500.00 USD - $92500.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
