Job Description
Job Title: Histology Technician
Location: New York NY 10065
Contract: 24 Weeks
Shift: Monday Friday 1:00 PM 9:00 PM
Pay: $1800 weekly (travel pay)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Histology Technicianfor an exciting Travel job in New York NY.
Responsibilities
Gross small biopsy and routine specimens under supervision
Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination including processing embedding cutting staining and slide mounting
Ensure specimen quality control and accurate labeling
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment in compliance with safety standards
Collaborate with pathologists pathology assistants and laboratory staff
Adhere to HIPAA Joint Commission and all departmental policies
Required Qualifications
Education
Associates Degree in Science and completion of an accredited Histology program
OR Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
Licensure/Certification
Valid NY State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
OR Certified Histology Technician / Clinical Lab Technician certification issued by the NYS Education Department
Experience
Minimum 23 years of recent experience in histology
Experience handling biopsy and dermatology specimens preferred
