Art & Design Departments:

Cover and Interior Design

Designing bookscovers jackets and interiorsis a collaborative effort. The staff reviews the book and meets with the editor and marketing department to create a visual-packaging direction and oversee itsimplementation to both represent the books essence and attract the target audience.

Some responsibilities may include creating covers and interior designs for each book setting up hardcover and paperback mechanicals Image research type research Illustrator research and creating social media assets.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS

Penguin Random House offers a 10-weekPAID REMOTEinternship opportunity available in our adult childrens and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels networking events and employee speaker series!

Summerinterns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $21/hour.

What you study does not matter! We are looking for your desire to work with books your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry.

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2027 (You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program).
  • Able to work 28 hours/week throughout the program
  • Available and commit to the program working June 8th 2026 August 13th 2026
  • Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
  • Must be over the age of 18
