Job Title: Patient Care Associate
Location: New York NY 10019
Duration: 60 Days
Shift: Monday Friday 11:00 AM 7:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Patient Care Associate to join the clinical team. This role supports registered nurses by assisting with patient care tasks daily living activities and clinical procedures while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.
Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
Record vital signs (BP pulse temperature respirations) intake/output and patient pain ratings.
Assist patients with feeding bathing mouth care toileting mobility and ambulation.
Support dietary functions including tray delivery/collection menu assistance and supplement preparation.
Provide one-to-one or close observation for patient safety suicide prevention or elopement risks.
Maintain patient isolation protocols under RN direction.
Perform patient rounding focusing on toileting comfort positioning and pain management.
Clinical Support
Collect specimens perform venipuncture and EKGs assist with compression devices post-mortem care and skin integrity.
Assist RNs during procedures as needed.
Document and escalate patient concerns appropriately.
Support equipment setup room turnovers and restocking of supplies.
Environment & Safety
Maintain a clean safe and functional patient environment (room organization trash removal equipment checks).
Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
Administrative Support
Greet visitors answer phones and provide information.
Assist with admission transfer discharge processes and updating communication boards.
Operate communication and pneumatic tube systems as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
AHA HeartSaver or BLS certification (required).
39 months of healthcare experience preferred.
Completion of a Patient Care Associate orientation/training program preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform a wide range of tasks.
