CAD Designer Job Description TemplateA 3D CAD Designer creates and modifies 3D models and technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for various industries like manufacturing engineering and architecture. Key Responsibilities
Design Creation: Create detailed 3D models assemblies and technical drawings from concepts or existing designs.
Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD SolidWorks Revit) to develop and modify digital designs.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers product designers architects and other team members to understand project requirements and ensure designs meet specifications.
Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed technical drawings schematics and other documentation necessary for manufacturing and construction.
Design Review & Revisions: Participate in design reviews incorporate feedback from team members and revise designs to improve functionality or meet new requirements.
Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards codes and regulations.
Prototyping Support: Provide design support for prototyping testing and the initial stages of the manufacturing process.
Required Skills
CAD Software Expertise: Mastery of 2D and 3D CAD software like AutoCAD SolidWorks CATIA or Revit.
Technical Drawing Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and specifications.
Engineering Principles: A strong understanding of basic engineering and physics principles is beneficial.
