3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Start Well Integrated Commissioning to lead on the strategic commissioning of health and care services for children young people and families.
This interim leadership role will deliver transformation across mental health SEND and social care services working within a joint local authority and NHS environment.
The successful candidate will be a senior-level commissioner with a proven ability to lead complex system change influence across sectors and ensure services deliver improved outcomes and value for money.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Provide strategic leadership in developing and delivering integrated commissioning programmes for children young people and family services.
Drive service transformation through co-production innovation and population health insights.
Work closely with senior leaders elected members clinicians and system partners to deliver system-wide improvement.
Lead budget management business planning and performance monitoring aligned to programme objectives.
Translate national and regional policy into local strategies and implement effective change.
Foster deep integration across health education care and voluntary sector partners.
Direct line management of commissioning team staff and responsibility for programme leadership.
Skills/Experience:
Extensive senior experience in commissioning within health and local authority settings.
Strong political acumen and ability to operate in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale service transformation and innovation.
Proven budget and programme management expertise.
Experience in integrated commissioning for childrens services including mental health SEND and early intervention.
Deep understanding of national policy legal frameworks and strategic planning for children and families.
Excellent communication influencing and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels.
Formal project/programme management training (e.g. PRINCE2 MSP).
Additional Information:
Full-time (36 hours/week) hybrid working model (12 days on-site).
