Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Clanwilliam Western Cape Wilderness Reserve Salary Negotiable DOE Live-In

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join a luxury wilderness reserve in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will support outlet management in day-to-day operations while ensuring an exceptional guest experience and maintaining the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support outlet management in daily operations and guest engagement during peak meal times

  • Control and manage operating equipment stores including purchasing and issuing equipment to outlets

  • Plan and execute food and beverage special events contributing to promotional ideas to drive revenue and PR

  • Finalise staff rosters ensuring sufficient labour in line with business levels while controlling labour costs

  • Manage operating costs in accordance with budgetary requirements

  • Coordinate training within the department to maintain high service standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel including at least 2 years managing a food and beverage outlet

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel)

  • Experience operating Point of Sale systems; Micros advantageous

  • Experience with stock management systems; FnBShop advantageous

  • Exposure to Opera system advantageous

  • Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Fluent in hospitality terminology particularly food and beverage vocabulary

  • Knowledge of restaurant financials stock control and resolving stock discrepancies

  • Experience in service recovery

  • Flexible to work weekends holidays and varying shifts

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:

  • Micros Symphony exposure

  • WSET Level 1 (wine and food pairing) and Level 2

  • Training and staff development experience

Package:
