Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join a luxury wilderness reserve in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will support outlet management in day-to-day operations while ensuring an exceptional guest experience and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Support outlet management in daily operations and guest engagement during peak meal times
Control and manage operating equipment stores including purchasing and issuing equipment to outlets
Plan and execute food and beverage special events contributing to promotional ideas to drive revenue and PR
Finalise staff rosters ensuring sufficient labour in line with business levels while controlling labour costs
Manage operating costs in accordance with budgetary requirements
Coordinate training within the department to maintain high service standards
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management
Minimum of 4 years experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel including at least 2 years managing a food and beverage outlet
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel)
Experience operating Point of Sale systems; Micros advantageous
Experience with stock management systems; FnBShop advantageous
Exposure to Opera system advantageous
Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Fluent in hospitality terminology particularly food and beverage vocabulary
Knowledge of restaurant financials stock control and resolving stock discrepancies
Experience in service recovery
Flexible to work weekends holidays and varying shifts
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:
Micros Symphony exposure
WSET Level 1 (wine and food pairing) and Level 2
Training and staff development experience
