Job Summary

We currently have an opportunity for an Information Developer (Bilingual) with a passion for technical writing to join our Integrated Logistics Support this role you will be responsible for researching creating and maintaining high-quality user documentation and technical content for our products and services. You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Develop comprehensive and accurate technical publications (e.g. user guides operation and maintenance manuals online help etc.) for technical products in accordance with the design and requirements.
  • Write edit and proofread technical documents
  • Translate technical documents from English to French
  • Review and validate technical publications to ensure accuracy completeness and relevance of content
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. product management engineering customer support etc.) and the customer
  • Review requirements in various requirements tools and turn into actional tasks
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in English Communications Technical/Professional Writing or related field (or equivalent with associated experience)
  •  2 years of experience as a Technical Writer/Information Developer or related role (e.g. instructional designer content strategist)
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical data into concise end user publications
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high quality publications
  • Strong understanding of technical writing principles and best practices
  • Ability to translate written text from English to French
  • Ability to effectively use requirement management tools (e.g. DOORs) to synthesize program requirements into actionable tasks
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team

Ideally you will also have some experience in the following:

  • Familiarity with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare Arbortext Editor Adobe FrameMaker or similar
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems (e.g. GitLab)
  • Knowledge of XML XSL or other markup languages
  • Understanding of Agile development principles

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
