Job Summary

We are looking for an industrial mechanical engineer to fill a key position within our multidisciplinary team in our Resources sector. The successful candidate will act as a senior engineer leading the design of mining processes developing the teams skills and ensuring the quality of deliverables.

Primary responsibilities 

  • Act as mechanical manager for medium and large-scale studies and projects including direct supervision of engineers designers and project team stakeholders. 
  • Actively participate in the design and development of plans and specifications for equipment such as crushers screens conveyors hoppers transfer chutes rotary kilns etc. 
  • Actively participate in the design of material handling crushing plants hydrometallurgical processes and concentrators such as floatation leaching filtration solvent extraction and even tailings filtration and processing. 
  • Ensure multidisciplinary coordination to establish plant layouts in accordance with industry standards and best practices established by our customers. 
  • Deliver mechanical engineering according to the established scope estimated hours planned dates and expected quality in accordance with company standards. 
  • Act as a mentor within industrial mechanics team. 
  • Influence the execution plan for brownfield projects to align with existing site constraints and project objectives. 

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with recognized experience in the mining industry. 
  • Professional certification in Canada (OIQ an asset). 
  • More than 10 years of experience specifically in metallurgical processing bulk handling and strategic minerals (an asset). 
  • Strong ability to solve technical problems. 
  • Ability to work with other disciplines and influence the execution of studies and projects. 
  • Strong ability to motivate and mobilize the mechanical team. 
  • Field experience (inspection troubleshooting testing and commissioning) an asset. 
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
