You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Hospitalist working with the Physiatrist and rehabilitation team will provide day-to-day medical management of patients receiving rehabilitative care on the inpatient units.
The Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is an integral part of the Department of Medicine and provides inpatient outpatient outreach and telehealth services for the Nova Scotia Health as well as the Maritime Provinces.
The Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Center is a 66-bed facility with special programs for ABI SCI MSK Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and has excellent interdisciplinary teams that serve as the referral center for the province of Nova Scotia and is in beautiful Halifax Nova Scotia.
The Rehabilitation Centre Site offers a unique team approach to inpatient care where the opinions and knowledge of others is valued; information is exchanged openly and respectfully; problem solving is strong and creative; and communication with patients and their families is effective and thoughtful. The hospitalist is considered the most responsible physician and is accountable for admission daily medical as required and discharges. Our hospitalists strive to model excellence in all areas of responsibilities and have superb communication skills and work well in team settings.

Remuneration:
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices including inpatient and nursing home care as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day) with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses including kilometrage per diems accommodations (up to $300 per night) and airfare (up to $1500) are reimbursed along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
