The Research Fellow is responsible for undertaking screening of compounds to facilitate identification of novel immune potentiating molecules that may be further developed as adjuvant candidates. Screening activities will include in vitro cytotoxicity and immunological assays.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Preparation and management of donor blood samples.
- Implementation of ELISA and flow cytometry assays for immunological analyses.
- Implementation of cytotoxicity and related assays.
- Data analysis and preparation of research reports as required.
This is a fixed term (12 months) full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The base salary for a Research Fellow (Grade 1) is in the range $88689 - $103888 per annum plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $103767 - $121549 per annum.
The base salary for a Research Fellow (Grade 2) is in the range $113226 - $134460 per annum plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $132474 - $157318 per annum.
The successful candidate will be appointed at either Grade 1 or 2 depending on experience skills and qualifications.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in immunology/vaccinology.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory work immunological assays cell culture and flow cytometry.
- Demonstrated experience in therapeutic discovery and development approaches
- A high level of oral and written communication excellent record keeping and good time management skills to ensure research activities are completed to the highest possible standards and within the required timeframe.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to meet the requirements of the project.
- A flexible approach to working hours where required to meet the requirements of the project.
