The General Accountant plays an important role within the finance and administrative team reporting to the Accounting Supervisor. The position supports both central and project operations in a dynamic environment working closely with various teams across the organization including HR procurement and finance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record financial transactions using the accounting system.
- Generate account balances and review transaction details.
- Handle payment processing and maintain organized records.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the head office.
- Compile monthly reports for field offices and review budget vs. actual spending.
- Develop and review budgets for proposals.
- Create and assess financial forecasts as needed.
- Support internal and external audits including expenditure verification; help address audit findings.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
- Perform other tasks as needed adapting to changing organizational priorities.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA qualification is a plus.
- Open to newly licensed CPAs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
- Strong command of English both written and spoken.
- Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving skills.
- Well-organized and able to manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working with diverse teams and cultures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
