Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity
We are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our general practice nursing team working across our Grafton and City Campuses. Our clinics specifically support our students and are not open to the general public. We are also open to appointing a Senior Practice Nurse so if this is of interest to you please feel free to reach out to discuss the role.
Ideally we are looking for a nurse with experience of working in a multidisciplinary health setting with proven clinical experience with young adults and diverse communities. This would be a great role for someone with an interest in sexual health mental health and a supporting wellness approach.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position.
Hours are rostered between 08:30 to 17:00 working one late shift per week from 10:30 to 18:30. There is no weekend work in this role.
We offer a competitive salary which is bolstered by our Kiwi Saver/Unisaver contributions which can match up to 6.75% of your salary. On top of this we also have 25 days of annual leave a year with a Christmas shutdown to ensure we all get a good summer break.

You will join an established team of more than ten nurses managed by the Nurse Team Leader and supported by an effective administrative team. Our unit sits within Campus Life which is a large service division that supports an engaging and inclusive campus experience for students at the University of Auckland.

He kōrero mōu About you
To succeed in this role you will be a registered nurse interested in sexual health mental health and ideally experienced within a general practice. You will be motivated to provide quality service and enjoy working collaboratively with the wider team to achieve this. It is important that you have an Independent Authorised Vaccinator Certificate or be willing to take the training course to be qualified.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied day can work comfortably with a wide range of people and is keen to contribute to health and wellbeing in the New Zealand tertiary sector.
E rapua ana mātou We are seeking
- A Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate
- Someone with an Independent Vaccinator Authorisation Certificate or willing to train towards this
- Ideally you will be qualified to take Cervical smears (preferable)
- You will have a current validated CPR and/or Advanced Life Support Certification
- Are able to show proven clinical experience with young adults and diverse communities
- Someone who can demonstrate experience with health screening and healthy lifestyle interventions
- You will need to consider yourself to have a high level of cultural competence
