The opportunity
We have a great opportunity to bring a new senior or experienced Investment Manager to the UniServices Investment Team. You will manage and grow a portfolio of investments in Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland Inventors Fund under the direction of the Director. You will work with researchers and students to start validate de-risk and accelerate companies. Your key focus will be to source new opportunities conduct due diligence selecting investments executing deals and support new and existing University of Auckland startups.
Key responsibilities:
- Promote commercialisation and entrepreneurship on campus with targeted outreach.
- Source investment opportunities from staff and students at the University.
- Conduct preliminary and full due diligence and build an investment thesis on initial and follow-on investment opportunities.
- Monitor support and manage relationships opportunities and risks.
Qualifications :
Your skills and experience:
It is essential for you to hold:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- 5 years experience in commercialisation early-stage investment or venture capital with a track record of leading investments and actively supporting portfolio companies.
- A high level of resilience open to change and able to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
- Enthusiasm and a passion for learning new technology and early stage technology start-ups.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Analytical and strategic mindset with an ability to execute.
