Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer PCBA Designer to join our R&D team in Bologna this role you will be responsible for designing verifying and validating printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) for next-generation consumer electronic appliances.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams from concept through production ensuring innovative reliable and compliant hardware solutions are delivered to market.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop schematics and PCB layouts for embedded systems and electronic control boards.

  • Define and select electronic components considering performance cost and reliability.

  • Collaborate with mechanical software and manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct verification and validation (V&V) testing at component board and system levels.

  • Perform hardware debugging root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Support prototype bring-up and smooth transition to mass production.

  • Prepare documentation for designs test reports and compliance certifications.



Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electronics Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 3 years of experience in PCBA design and hardware development.

  • Strong proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g. Altium Designer OrCAD Mentor Graphics).

  • Solid understanding of analog digital and power electronics design.

  • Hands-on experience with V&V testing (signal integrity EMC thermal reliability).

  • Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes multimeters spectrum analyzers power supplies.

  • Knowledge of design standards and regulatory compliance (CE EMC/EMI safety standards).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in the consumer electronics or home appliances industry.

  • Knowledge of high-speed design techniques and signal integrity analysis.

  • Familiarity with DFM/DFT methodologies and collaboration with EMS partners.

  • Experience with hardware software integration (MCU sensors connectivity modules).
