Job Description

We are looking for an Management Accountant to join our thriving finance team in Market Drayton. The ideal candidate will support with financial reports budgeting and forecasting.  Working closely with the management accountant this is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to gain additional exposure to month end management accounts. 

This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (some flexibility will be needed on working hours depending on business need) offering a competitive salary package with the opportunity to work for a forward thinking market leader.

Job Purpose

As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for providing a management accounting service to the Chilled operations including; management accounts preparation budgeting forecasting decision support and ad hoc analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Based at the Market Drayton site with some occasional travel to the depots within the Chilled network responsible for the preparation of weekly P&L accounts and KPI packs highlighting material cost variances and the key operational causes
  • Preparation (alongside the core Finance team) of the monthly accounts for individual sites including in depth commentary and analysis on the performance as well as comparison to key KPIs
  • To be responsible for the preparation of the annual budget plan for individual sites liaising with Site General Managers and other budget holders to understand requirements
  • Refresh the site forecasts quarterly to highlight expected performance versus budget
  • Act as business partner to the Chilled management team providing opinion guidance support and challenge where appropriate
  • To undertake cost centre analysis as required as part of the month end process or on an ad-hoc basis
  • To issue cost centre reports on a monthly basis or when required to cost centre managers
  • Ad-hoc projects as required

Qualifications :

  • Qualified accountant with at least several years relevant experience
  • A background including logistics experience preferable
  • Must have a higher level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • SAP knowledge would be desirable though not essential as training will be provided
  • Commercially and operationally astute
  • Self-motivated and confident
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Good team player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and to meet deadlines set
  • Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
